 A lot of the skills I acquired were mostly focused around digital design. This is a skillset that I've felt was severely undeveloped and became more worked through this assignment. This included inserting images, formatting text with images and diagrams, and trying to figure our colors and fonts for the website. I also got some more practice using links and hyperlinks, as well as continuing to learn how to copyright my work. I think these skills will be very useful in the future when I'm developing my writing portfolio as well as planning out my website for when I teach. I think one way I'd incorporate QR codes within my lessons would be by creating activities. For example, each group of students would start on one QR code, and each QR code scans into a game of mastery for historical analysis skills and/or historical terms. Blog Journal #2

Word is something I’ve become very familiar with throughout my education. It’s been the primary writing tool used throughout my K-12 years, mostly for essays and papers that I’ve been assigned to write. I use it for creative writing as well, developing various narratives. I find it to be easy to learn, and I’m continuing to learn the program. The Word Shortcuts were very helpful, and I’ve already been using them during lectures. Speaking of lectures, it was only this semester of college that I began using word to take notes. Previously I’ve been very hands-on and physical with writing my notes, but I’ve found word to be extremely useful in fast paced lecture settings. The Standard for Educators that was most meaningful to me was 2.5.a, Designer and Accommodate Learner Differences. The reason why I found it so meaningful was because education and students are becoming more diverse in ways of thinking as we become more open to exploration of learning disabilities.   Overall, I’m mostly excited to learn practical online skills through this class, though i’m also looking forward to learning about the application of technology to teaching. Because I never had a computer at home growing up, I lacked many of the skills that my peers gained through practice. It took a few years with school-issued chrome-books to figure out how to work word and powerpoint, though my typing skills never got better. Since then, I haven’t had the time nor the motivation to learn these skills or how to navigate through various online sites. So, I’m very grateful and excited to be learning and exercising those skills in this class.   As for prior experience, I’ve worked as a formal TA in my senior year with freshmen studying honors world history. I worked with powerpoint and a little bit of canva to create powerpoint and interactive class assignments.
